Outlier Analysis

Abstract

Spatial outliers are objects which have behavioral attribute values that are distinct from those of their surrounding spatial neighbors. Thus, spatial continuity plays an important role in the identification of anomalies. This is an analogous principle to the concept of temporal continuity, which was discussed in the chapters on time series outlier detection.
