Abstract
Life brings the potential for joy and happiness depending whether our abilities reach outlets in our domains. People want to see other people succeed, especially their spouse, their children, their parents, or their favorite sports team. Mankind is in a competition between having and being. Defeated people need encouragement. Bravery to examine obstacles and find ways to work around problems will serve the suffering person immeasurably. The hard worker who still cannot achieve a satisfactory result and who gets terminated may develop feelings of irrelevancy. The objective is to help a person get back into the rhythm of life and help him or her capitalize on strengths while doing everything possible to overcome weaknesses. Coping with profound change requires an inner spirit of resiliency and steady deployment of inner will to get through struggles. A person’s place in society may change. For many, a change in societal position is taken in stride but others may develop feelings of displacement with distress. Fear is a learned reaction to stimuli. Some people are more afraid of success than they are of failure. A person can create a sense of career sabotage, manifested as increased error rate, increased absences, and less motivation. The striving for perfection can be derailed by failure.
