Abstract

Distant metastases in thyroid cancer including bone metastases are extremely rare. Most patients with bone metastases present with bone pain or fracture. The presence of distant metastasis reduces survival rate in thyroid cancer patients. Diagnosis is usually made by isotope or non-isotope imaging. Treatment of these patients involves a multidisciplinary approach consisting of medical treatment, radiotherapy, and surgery.
