Challenging Cases in Rheumatology and Diseases of the Immune System

Abstract

Primary immunodeficiencies can be clinically important disorders in the adult population and generally present with recurrent, recalcitrant, and/or severe sinopulmonary infections. In particular, common variable immunodeficiency and specific antibody deficiency are relevant. In this chapter, we discuss a common case presentation of each of these immunodeficiencies and include in our discussion the evaluation, differential diagnosis, and treatment.
