Abstract
Despite the earnest and best efforts of scientists, the sheer complexity of the subject makes precise agreement between studies, types of research, quality and interpretations of the data subject to any number of differences and disagreements between colleagues. The passion that climate science has generated has sometimes tended to make these become personal, especially when reputations are on the line and hard sought research has taken years of dedicated work. As such, climate science has not been without its star players, who have found themselves either embraced or becoming targets of the opposite side.
