Bronchoscopy Education

Abstract

Bronchoscopy education is undergoing rapid evolution. Indeed, a paradigm shift is at hand whereby patients need no longer bear the burden of procedure-related training. Through the use of uniform curricula, specially trained instructors, validated assessment tools, social media targeting learners at all levels, and appropriate applications of simulation-based hands-on learning, bronchoscopists can enhance their practice, competently and more rapidly introduce new technologies to the bedside, and best serve their patients in a way that exemplifies the Hippocratic oath’s “First, do no harm.”
