Abstract

Dermal diseases included in this chapter are those diseases that affect the dermis by infiltration of fluid (e.g., urticaria), scar formation (e.g., lipoid proteinosis) and altered thickness (e.g., striae). Differences in clinical appearance of these illnesses depend both on altered fibroblast function and the effects of pigmentation and dyspigmentation.
