Abstract

The medical images such as X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound and Nuclear medicine are subjected to digital image processing techniques like Image enhancement, Image compression and feature extraction. Image enhancement is the process of improving the visual quality of the image. Image compression helps to store the obtained data with less memory. Feature extraction are used for medical image classification. This chapter deals with these basic post imaging techniques.
