Abstract

Laparoscopic pancreatoduodenectomy was first described in 1994. It is increasingly being performed for periampullary tumors, pancreatic neoplasia, and chronic pancreatitis. When the operation is performed for cancer, oncologic principles must be respected as they are for other laparoscopic cancer resections. This chapter discusses principles for safe performance of laparoscopic pancreatoduodenectomy.
