Abstract

Paraesophageal hiatal hernia (PEH) is a potentially life-threatening disorder that primarily affects the elderly. Symptomatic patients who are operative candidates should undergo reduction and repair of the hernia. Most commonly this procedure is done laparoscopically. This chapter outlines the indications, technique, and potential complications for the repair of PEH.
