Abstract
In this chapter, economics of environmentally friendly machining is discussed. It is emphasized that in the machining cost calculation, the costs associated with cutting fluid storage and disposal should be considered. At the same time, the impact on environment can also be converted in a cost form. A method to assess the cost of air-cooled machining is presented, and it is shown that typically air-cooled machining is a viable option both economically and environmentally.
