Abstract
In this chapter, we describe in detail the discrete-event simulation model of patient flow developed for policy evaluation in the case studies presented in Chaps. 14 to 19. In particular, we describe the modeled perioperative process of cardiac surgical care, the requirements of the model, and technical details about implementation of the model.
