Abstract

After two exceedingly brief reviews of immunology and neurology, we are ready for an exceedingly brief review of neuroimmunology. Neuroimmunology is a nascent field and our understanding of most of the field is relatively shallow. This chapter serves as a brief historical review of trends in the field and an introduction to the remainder of the book.
