Abstract

Systems engineering (SE) is a term associated with the process of developing large-scale complex systems. By mitigating risks and correcting defects during the early stage via the application of the systems engineering process, experience has shown that project costs and risks are significantly reduced. This chapter outlines an introduction to the concept of systems engineering and its processes. It also lists major advantages of its implementation as part of the development of any complex systems.
