The SAGES Manual on the Fundamental Use of Surgical Energy (FUSE)

Abstract

While the principles of RF electrosurgery are the same throughout the body, use of this energy in the closed environment of the GI tract results in unique scenarios that must be understood to achieve the best therapeutic results while avoiding complications. It is also important for surgeons to be familiar with common endoscopic tools so that if complications should arise, their etiology is better understood and this understanding can lead to more effective management.
