Distribution and Preservation of Learning Material Beyond the Boarders of the Classroom

Abstract

This chapter goes beyond the context of the classroom, trying to examine eLearning not only under the perspective of personal interaction in a course, but also under the perspective of possible effects on larger social communication systems like organizations and society. For this purpose, learning materials and learning interaction will be distinguished as complementary elements of learning arrangements. Both elements carry a very different potential for dissemination. Especially for electronic learning materials, this opens a wider range of possible uses, far beyond the classroom.
