Abstract

The focus of this book has been the position that schizophrenia is not a valid disorder different from psychotic mood disorders. This chapter assesses responsibility for the perpetuation of the concept of the validity and separateness of schizophrenia and addresses critical negative spin-off phenomena that detrimentally impact graduating MDs not entering psychiatry and their mentally ill patients.
