Starting to Write: Planning the Aims and Overcoming Writer’s Block

Chapter

Abstract

Starting to write is the most difficult part of the whole application for most people, especially those who are new to the process. It may seem overwhelming to sit down with a blank document and blinking cursor, and come up with the first words for what will be a 10 or 20 page application. You may have a good overall idea of what you want to do in your research, but translating that into a formal written research plan is a completely different skill.
