Abstract
Open (transabdominal) adrenalectomy is performed for any tumor too large to remove laparoscopically and for invasive adrenal tumors. This chapter details techniques, complications, and pitfalls for safe performance of open transabdominal adrenalectomy. Laparoscopic adrenalectomy is covered in Chap. 123.
