Lupus Erythematosus

Abstract

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) can be associated with a variety of disorders involving the thorax, including pleural diseases, acute and chronic parenchymal abnormalities, and vascular diseases. The presenting signs and symptoms in thoracic disorders can overlap substantially. The approach to diagnosis and treatment involves a comprehensive evaluation, with support from imaging, pulmonary function testing, and cardiovascular assessment. In this chapter, we will review the most common thoracic manifestations of SLE, focusing on assessment, clinical management, and prognostic implications.
