Abstract
Due to the Moon’s revolution around the Earth and Sun, the Moon cycles through changes in light and shadow as seen from the perspective of an earthbound observer. The change in the Moon’s appearance from waxing to waning, New Moon to New Moon, provides the observer with a fascinating array of possibilities for representing these phases. Lunar sketchers can use their naked eye, binoculars or telescopes while documenting their observations.
