Abstract
Although infrequent, infection after ACL reconstruction is a potentially devastating complication. The diagnosis can often be elusive and the treatment and eradication challenging. There is a relative paucity of guidance that can be gleamed from the literature and what does exist is fairly heterogeneous and difficult to interpret as a whole. This chapter addresses some of the controversies and challenges of diagnosis and treatment of the infected ACL reconstruction. A proposed management algorithm is suggested, derived from the best available current evidence.
