Abstract
The art of hip arthroscopy has made a quantum leap from early surgical procedures of debridement and removal of loose bodies to chondrolabral preservation and femoroacetabular osteoplasty. Challenges remain but with meticulous attention to arthroscopic surgical techniques and attention to anatomy, joint preservation is possible. Proper training, patient selection, and early diagnosis and treatment are essential for maintenance of the hip joint prior to irreparable damage with current knowledge.
