Abstract

Morbid obesity with body mass index (BMI) greater or equal to 40 kg/m2. Morbid obesity with BMI greater than 35 kg/m2 with serious co-morbidities. The patient should have tried but failed supervised medical weight loss program, and should have had a multidisciplinary assessment in a bariatric surgical program preoperatively.
