The Zarlink 12-Channel GPS Receiver

In this chapter, we take a brief look at the two-chip Zarlink GPS receiver, Zarlink part numbers GP2015 and GP2021. The GP2015 performs the RF downconversion and the GP2021 does the baseband processing. This receiver is commercially available and has software that is open Source, see Clifford Kelly’s website Our discussion will concentrate on how the hardware of this product works. The GP2021 can also be used to receive the GLONASS signal, here we only discuss the GPS use of this chip.
