The Power of Metaphor: A Tool for Further Reflection on Leadership Behavior
The American poet Ulys H. Yates said, “The poet makes the specific universal” (Wasylyshyn 2011a, p. 12). My specific observations of business leaders – these Remarkable, Perilous, and Toxic types – are representative of executive behavior as I have witnessed it. My intention is to make these types universally understood and useful to a broader audience. I believe the understanding of these types has important implications for the effectiveness of business leaders, for the development of people who report to them, and ultimately, for the success of their organizations.
