Abstract
Prominent ear is the object of ridicule and jest that can affect the child psychologically, even permanently. Names like “bat,” “Dumbo,” “projecting” ear, “cup” ear, oreille “decollé,” and orejas en “asa” do not help. The general consensus of opinion is that preschool correction is indicated, and six years of age is best.
