Abstract
Middle cerebral artery (MCA) aneurysms make up approximately 30% of all intracranial aneurysms presenting with acute subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH).1 The incidence, however, varies from 21% in clinical series to 31% in autopsy series. Eighty to 85% are located at the bifurcation of the MCA at the junction of the M1 and M2. Ten percent, however, are found along the trunk of the M1 at the lenticulostriate branches and the anterior temporal branch. Ten percent are found on the M2 branches, distal to bifurcation.
