Issues for the Future

Part of the Springer Series on Industry and Health Care book series (SSIND, volume 1)

Our intention here is to be provocative, to polarize the issues, and to propose a conceptual matrix for industry’s future discussions of health policy. Among the many health policy issues embedded in this monograph, we have identified two that appear to have particular relevance to the problem of health care cost control, and cost is the preeminent health concern of the day.
