Abstract
Intraocular cysts can be seen in both anterior and posterior segments. Originally described in 1899, these cysts are seen with retinitis pigmentosa, uveitis, or chorioretinal atrophy. Many investigators consider the cysts to be congenital in origin, but they may also result from trauma. The pigmented ciliary epithelium may be the source of the cysts.
