Chest Atlas

Abstract

The cadaver for the sagittal sections was that of a 65-year-old white male who died suddenly during physical exertion. Cardiac arrest secondary to acute myocardial ischemia was assumed. The lungs were reexpanded and the chest radiographed within 2 hours following death. The thoracic structures were deemed normal for a subject of the stated age. The cadaver was placed in the freezer in a neutral supine position. The body remained in the freezer for 49 months prior to isolation of the chest and sectioning.
