Abstract

Motor activity is an integral part of human behavior, as it is the common form of expression to sensory stimulation and our mode of interaction with the environment around us. We depend on muscular actions controlled by the nervous system to attain our upright posture in sitting and standing and to walk in our two legged fashion. Even our verbal communication is generated by the motor commands. In addition, we have a rich variety of postures, gestures, and facial movements associated with human interaction, which are identified as “body language.”
