Abstract

Neurenteric cysts develop mainly at the level of the spinal cord, seldom at that of the cranial cavity. They are defined as cysts that are lined by gastrointestinal mucosa and are in direct contact with the central nervous system. Thus defined, they are rare: no more than 25 intraspinal neurenteric cysts have been described in the literature after the original publication of Puussepp in 1934.1
