Abstract

Project # 20. In these studies, we have seen mathematics pulling itself up by its bootstraps. ℕ was formed from Ø. Lacking subtraction, we created ℤ out of the subtraction problems themselves. Lacking division, we created ℚ out of the division problems. What do we lack now? Quite a few numbers really. We can’t take square roots, for example, but many other important numbers are missing.
