Abstract

Monotone functions play a very important role in the general theory of analysis of functions of a real variable. By virtue of their monotonic character, these functions have a wide variety of basic and elegant structural properties in terms of continuity, differentiability, and so on. In this chapter we establish some of the fundamental results in this direction.
