Abstract

Although autologous tissue from numerous organs has been transplanted throughout the body successfully, none of these is more appealing than fat. Theoretically, fat should provide a nearly unlimited source of host tissue for subcutaneous and dermal augmentation. It is soft and has a natural consistency, is easy to obtain access to, and is readily regenerated after harvesting.
