Abstract

As described in Chapter 3, primary production measurements were made on Lake Dillon by the C-14 method. These data can be combined in several ways with information on chlorophyll and phytoplankton composition on the same dates. Four indexes related to primary production will be of interest here: primary production per unit area, column efficiency of photosynthesis, depth of the photosynthesis maximum, and maximum photosynthesis per unit chlorophyll.
