Abstract

Revisional gastric surgery comprises reoperations that are done primarily for weight loss failure, regain of weight, or outlet obstruction. Reoperations for acute complications (leaks, hemorrhage, or certain late complications such as distal bowel obstruction or peptic ulcer, discussed in Chapter 6) are not revisional operations. Revisional intestinal surgery is done primarily for serious metabolic complications or unacceptable side effects.
