Calculation Modulo p of the Matrix of αf,h

Abstract

The object of this section is to determine conditions under which we may replace \(G_{f,h}^{\left( 1 \right)}G_{f,h}^{\left( 2 \right)}\) by unity in the calculation of the coefficients of the matrix α f,h (relative to the basis 1, 1/(1 − x)) modulo p. Since these coefficients vary with λ, and indeed may become large as λ → 0, 1, ∞, we specify here that λ∈Ω1 (cf. (5.6.4.1)).
