Measurement of the Thermal Expansivity of Ag and Some Ag-In Alloys by High Temperature X-Ray Diffraction Camera

Abstract

An X-ray diffraction investigation was conducted at temperatures ranging from 40° to 900° C to determine the lattice parameter — temperature relations in vacuum for 99.999% pure Ag, and some Ag-In alloys within the alpha solid solubility range, and to study the effect of different gases (air, N2 O2 and H2) on the thermal expansivity of Ag.
