Comparative Effects of Various Strains of Corynebacterium parvum and Other Prophylactic Agents on Tumor Development in Animals

  • Heinrich Wrba

After the publication by Halpern et al. (1966) of an article on the tumor-inhibiting effect of Corynebacterium parvum (Cp), we undertook a large series of similar experiments. At that time, a strain of Cp from the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) was at our disposal.* An exact repetition of the experiments as published produced negative results in our laboratory. It was therefore decided to investigate growth inhibition on a spectrum of tumors.
