Enhancing Effect of Radioresistant Spleen Cells on the Primary Immune Response against Sheep RBC by Mouse Spleen Cells in Vitro

  • Chapter

Abstract

The requirement of three cell types for the immune response against sheep RBC, both in vivo and in vitro, has been recognized for some time. Two of these cell types were found to be radiosensitive, one to be radioresistant (1,2,3,4). Their tendency to adhere to a substrate has been used to separate the radioresistant cells from the radiosensitive ones. The macrophage was considered to be the most likely candidate for the radioresistant cell.
