Abstract

It is my pleasant duty to assist in closing our First Joint Seminar. Let me first express on behalf of the entire American group our thanks to the National Science Foundation-USA and the Academy of Sciences-USSR for their general support including providing the material basis for our Seminar: also the National Academy of Sciences-USA for its support. Most particularly, I wish to thank our host in Moscow, Prof. S. L. Mandelstam, Director of the Institute of Spectroscopy, Academgorodok (Podolsky r-n), and Chairman of the Commission of Spectroscopy — USSR, who assumed the overall responsibility of our Moscow Seminar.
