Abstract

The critical behavior of the thermodynamic quantities near tricritical points is determined in three dimensions. It is shown that the mean field theory is modified by logarithmic corrections and these logarithmic corrections are determined for the free energy, osmotic coefficient, coexistence line, order parameter, surface tension and coherence length. Recent light scattering data near the tricritical point in He3-He4 mixtures is discussed.
