Abstract
This paper is connected with the theory of Raman scattering in two ways. First of all, we shall consider a new type of elementary excitation closely related to longwave optical phonons, and the best way to observe these excitations is to perform a Raman scattering experiment. Secondly, these elementary excitations are collective excitations in a nonequilibrium phonon system, and the best way to achieve the nonequilibrium state is to excite the phonon system by some Raman-type process.
