Investigation of Complex-Chemical Equilibria in Urinary Systems with Respect to Calcium Oxalate Formation

Abstract

Calculations of complex-chemical equilibria from total component concentrations, pH and equilibrium constants have proved to be very usefull to determine activity products of the ionized components of stone-forming salts (1–4). In the present paper, calculations of the Ca-oxalate activity product, TT, are reported together with experimental results. Perrins algorithm for chemical equilibrium calculations (5) has been included into a program which allows for the dependence of the activity coefficients an ionic strength according to the Davies-equation (4). The system under regard and computed results are described in Fig. 1. (A more detailed description will be given in a forthcoming paper (6)).
