Reflection Coefficient of Phonons between 15 and 200 GHz at a Solid-Liquid Helium Interface

  • Chapter
Phonon Scattering in Solids

Abstract

Results on the reflectivity of phonons between 15 and 315 GHz on very clean surfaces of cleaved SrF2 immersed in liquid helium have recently been published.(1) In this report, we give preliminary results on changes in the reflectivity between 15 and 200 GHz at 1.4K induced by the addition of H2, D2, Ne and Ar to the interface.
