Mass Spectrometry in Acute Intoxication Diagnostics: Aspects and Experiences

Abstract

In the last 5 years or so the usefulness of mass spectrometers in emergency toxicology has repeatedly been stressed. It this justified? This question should be subdivided into:
  1. 1.

    Are chemical analyses of toxic agents of considerable value in emergency toxicology?

     
  2. 2.

    Are methods employing mass spectrometry (MS) of any advantage in such analyses?
