Abstract

In the Quantitative Study of the Project (Kernberg et al., 1972, pp. 3–85) an attempt was made to do a statistical analysis while preserving the clinical nature of the variables. The method used was a modification of the Fechnerian Method of Paired Comparisons. In this chapter we will examine the comparability between the psychological test ratings of patient variables and the ratings derived from the paired comparison method which was based on nontest clinical information.
