Physical exercise has received increasing recognition as one of the popular forms of recreation having favourable effects on health. Consequently, appropriate forms of exercise should be developed to make the best possible advantage of its beneficial effects. The exercise program should be sufficiently attractive to maintain continual interest and participation. It should have favourable physiological effects, particularly on respiratory and circulatory systems, and participation should include a minimum risk of health complications.
